Clubs Closed in Observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

“The time is always right to do what is right.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

All Club locations will be closed on Monday, January 18 in honor of MLK Day.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.believed that all citizens, regardless of race, should live up to their purpose and potential by applying the principles of non-violence to make this country a better place.  Each year, Americans celebrate MLK Day in a variety of ways, often by coming together to serve their neighborhoods and community. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City honors Dr. King by educating our Club members about the principles he stood for and giving back to the communities in which our Clubs serve.

One of the most well known phrases associated with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is “I have a dream”, the title of the speech King delivered during the March on Washington in 1963. At the Clubs, we strive to provide our kids and teens with the exposure and opportunities they need to be successful. We empower our Club members to dream big, set goals and work hard to achieve them.
