SUMMARY

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City has experienced tremendous growth and now operates six club locations in Kansas and Missouri serving over 1,350 members daily. The President is responsible for managing the strategic planning and operations of the Clubs in accordance with the organization’s youth-serving mission and goals.  S/he will provide leadership, direction, and support to the Board of Directors in developing organizational goals, attaining/allocating resources, and establishing policies.  The President will be responsible for an annual operating budget of over $8 million and will work with 140+ staff and over 150 active volunteers to further the organization’s mission.  Significant responsibilities include:

Requirements:

IDEAL BACKGROUND AND SKILL SET

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in a similar role managing programs or operations in a non-profit agency, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated passion for youth development
  • Thorough knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of youth-focused organizations and in managing non-profit organizations
  • Effective track record in the range of resource development activities and principles
  • Strong financial acumen, including ability to develop and manage budgets
  • Good knowledge of asset management including financial resources and property
  • Successful experiences overseeing marketing and public relations activities
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement effective operations
  • Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem solving, and decision making
  • Strong formal and informal communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, staff, community groups, and other related agencies
