Roshann Parris
Roshann is the founder of Parris Communications Inc., a Kansas City-based public relations and strategic communications firm now celebrating its 35th year. The firm has developed a reputation for its broad-based strategic and crisis communications work in both the U.S. and countries worldwide, ranging from Fortune 50 companies to governmental organizations to thriving small businesses.
While managing her energized Parris team, Roshann has simultaneously maintained an active Washington, D.C.-based public sector career which, since 1978, has included six years on the United States Senate staff and senior roles on 11 presidential campaign staffs of Democratic candidates.
Roshann has served as Lead Advance on the international White House Presidential Advance Team for the Clinton, Obama and Biden administrations, accompanying the President and First Lady to over 60 countries, including South Africa, China, Vietnam, Bosnia, Russia, Israel, Uganda, Jordan, Egypt, Philippines and countries throughout Europe.
Roshann has proudly been part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City family for over 25 years, having served on the Board of Directors many of those years. Roshann and Team Parris served as event managers of Kids Night Out for well over a decade, culminating in Roshann’s leadership of an all-star list of co-chairs for the Kids Night Out Centennial Celebration in 2012. It was a legendary Kansas City night in which the event broke the $1 million barrier for the first time.
Roshann is a recipient of the Kansas City Spirit Award, the Central Exchange Firehouse Award, Kansas City Woman of the Year, Public Relations Professional of the Year, Athena Award, MS Society Hope Award, William Jewell College Distinguished Service honorary degree, and the United Way Adele Hall Spirit of Caring Award.
