Meet the Area Director
Area Director (Eastern Jackson County)
Tyrone Moore has been involved with youth for over 30 years. At the age of fourteen, he volunteered his summer breaks from school to help those in need. At that point, Mr. Moore knew that working with youth was his destiny. Tyrone was born in Kansas City, Kansas, and was educated in the public school systems of USD 202 (Turner District) and USD 500 (KCK’s). Afterward, he enrolled in Kansas City Kansas Community College and graduated from Donnelly College.
Tyrone began his professional career as a Youth Development Professional with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City in August of 1997. Mr. Moore started in a program called KidsZone as a group leader. The program offered before and after-school programming for youth in ten Kansas City, Kansas Elementary Schools. After two years he was the Site Coordinator for the Satchel Paige K-8 School in Kansas City, Missouri where he spent 8 years. He was then promoted to Unit Director of the Hawthorne Unit in 2007 for 2 years, and he was promoted to Area Director for Eastern Jackson County (Hawthorne & Leslie Units) for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City in 2009, where he spent an additional 5 years.
